This year’s EMN conference will focus on how to build a sustainable Microfinance Industry in Europe and will serve as a platform for debate, learning and exchange experiences between practitioners. The conference is expected to offer valuable lessons to all the participants by sharing industry insight from organizations throughout Europe including presentations and interactive debates. Some of the key topics that will be discussed are: “Everything you always wanted to know about sustainable microfinance but were afraid to ask”, “Learning from Credit Unions the microfinance bridge from the past towards the future”, “European microfinance and sustainability: to regulate or not to regulate” and “The use of EU Funds for sustainable microfinance”. Aspekt will benefit from the event by having the opportunity to meet with Microfinance and SMEs from Europe and understand the challenges and needs of the European rural microfinance organizations and later use the generated insight to help companies through technology.
European Microfinance Network (EMN) is a Belgium-based non-governmental organization which supports the promotion of microfinance in European Union countries by raising the awareness of the European legislative and regulatory requirements in the microfinance market. EMN has more than 90 members and partners located in 21 European countries, connecting the European microfinance providers and promoting microenterprise development. The main activities of the organization include capacity-building programs through debates, workshops and trainings, networking events and written publications that address microfinance issues.
